LE Privaté Clinic - Skincare Treatments - Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment

FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER TREATMENT

LE PRIVATÉ CLINIC introduces the latest Smartxide2 - Fractional CO2 “DOT/RF” laser resurfacing technology. It combines the remarkable resurfacing action of CO2 laser with radiofrequency for long-term improvement in skin laxity, acne scarring, enlarged pores and skin texture among others.

Smartxide2 fractional CO2 laser creates very precise bursts of light using a dotted matrix pattern. With this method, untreated areas in between are left to ensure a rapid recovery. With SmartXide2 laser, other areas besides the face such as neck, hands and back, can be safely treated, creating an impressive skin tightening and resurfacing that is achieved with much less downtime.

The basic process of Fractional Resurfacing is to remove the top layer of damaged skin in order to enable healthier skin to grow in its place. Smartxide2 treatment causes a rapid tightening of the skin, reducing blemishes, scarring and skin irregularities. Collagen production in the skin is also stimulated, giving a youthful look and feel, and prolonging the effects of the treatment.

With the latest Smartxide2 advanced technology laser, the therapeutic action selectively reaches surface tissues and deeper areas, ensuring maximum reliability in controlling the application with minimal thermal damage. Skin thus recovers quickly and with a proper skin maintenance regime, its effects can potentially be seen for several years, resulting in high patient satisfaction.

FAQs

What are pre-op instructions for fractional laser?
We advise a pre-laser consultation with Dr. Lew to begin skin conditioning 4-6 weeks prior to the procedure. Sun protection is strongly reinforced before and after the treatment to prevent post-treatment hyperpigmentation.

During the pre-procedure consult, pre-op care instructions will be given. Avoidance of sun-tanning and self-tanning creams for at least 4 weeks should be strictly adhered to.

For women (morning of procedure):
Do not use make-up, mascara, lipstick
Do not use hair products of any kind
Do not use perfume

For men (morning of procedure):
Do not use make-up
Do not use hair products
Shave areas to be treated

Additional information will be given to the patients post treatment via our “survival guide for fractionated CO2 resurfacing”

Is the treatment painful?
The procedure is simple and convenient with some discomfort. Laser resurfacing feels hot; our clinic uses an air chiller that cools the skin before, during and after treatment, making the treatment tolerable to most patients with simple topical anesthesia. For sensitive individuals, oral analgesia can be given prior to the treatment to make the procedure comfortable.

How long is the recovery time?
Social downtime averages 3 to 6 days, depending on the energy and density settings of the laser pixels.

What is the recovery of a typical patient like?
Immediately after the procedure, the face swells up slightly and appears red. Redness can persist for about a week to two. Thousands of tiny white dots about the size of hair strands can only be seen close-up. Mild oozing may be experienced. Swelling usually subsides in 24-48 hours. The treated skin looks much better once it’s fully peeled, usually in about 4-6 days.

How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments varies patient to patient. Improvements are usually seen with the first treatment.
